The USEA Foundation offers several different grants and scholarships, all designed to assist event riders in reaching their goals. Grant funds are designed to be used for coaching, training, and competing in the pursuit of advancing skills of horse and rider, some with the ultimate goal of representing the United States in international competition. USEA Chief Development Officer Jo Whitehouse joins us on the program this week to describe the different grants and explain the important work that is accomplished by the Foundation.

About the USEA Annual Meeting and Convention
USEA CEO Rob Burk joins us on the program this week to share highlights from the 2017 USEA Annual Meeting and Convention, which took place in Long Beach, California, December 6-10. This year's Convention was jam-packed with content that was split into three tracks: Events, Eventers, and Equine, each of which offered educational sessions and open forums for attendees to participate in. Over 360 members attended this year's Convention, and nearly all of those attendees came to both the Annual Meeting of Members and the Year End Awards Ceremony. There were presentations by Diarm Byrne of EquiRatings, USEF High Performance Director Erik Duvander, and Tryon International Equestrian Center among many others. Listen in to learn more!

Carol Kozlowski called to order the final Board of Governors meeting of the 2017 USEA Annual Meeting and Convention on Sunday morning in Long Beach, California. “[Convention] seems to have evolved into a very positive experience this weekend. To be able to gather and to keep the momentum going forward in a cohesive fashion, we’re lucky have such good people in the places that we have them in this sport, and I appreciate everyone here and what you all do to make decisions [for our sport].”
Robin Walker Reports on the ICP Young Horse and Future Event Horse Programs
Every year at the United States Eventing Association (USEA) Annual Meeting and Convention we recognize the hard work and achievements of our members at the Year End Awards Ceremony. MC’ed by the legendary Jimmy Wofford, the awards ceremony is one of the most anticipated events of Convention and gives eventers the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments with their family, friends, and the whole eventing community.
The Annual Meeting of Members is the backbone of the USEA Convention and for the Association the most important part as it gives members a look inside the USEA. This year’s Annual Meeting was called to order by USEA President, Carol Kozlowski who introduced Tink Eichell, secretary of the USEA. Eichell then established a quorum was present and there was a vote to approve the minutes of the 2016 Annual Meeting of Members.
While the USEA Annual Meeting and Convention is an opportunity for members of the sport to gather from all over the country to discuss official business, it's also an opportunity for members to attend educational seminars on a variety of topics all in one place! ERQI Is Coming to the United States
It was a productive morning of discussion for the USEA Board of Governors meeting with the Vice Presidents and committee chairs giving their annual reports to the full Board. USEA President Carol Kozlowski opened the meeting with various highlights of 2017. Her reports were almost all of a positive nature and included the strategic planning session success, the record number of entries in the American Eventing Championships (AEC), Young Event Horse and Future Event Horse Championships, and the continued safety efforts of the organization including EquiRatings and The Chronicle of the Horse Round Table.
Thursday kicked off the first day of the 2017 USEA Annual Meeting and Convention with five open sessions and a multitude of closed committee meetings at the Westin in Long Beach, Calif.
